The LEARNTEC 2018 is over, and Team blink.it is slowly getting back to business. For everyone on the trade show team, the three days in Karlsruhe were an exhilarating experience. And a question kept coming up: What do penguins have in common with digital learning?
Excitement at the Trade Show Booth
The big and small cuddle penguin were the icebreakers at LEARNTEC and at the same time bringers of good luck for blink.it. From 9 AM to 6 PM, our team members were practically constantly engrossed in conversations with trade show visitors. "Have fun at the trade show!" our sales specialist Hans-Martin Sprungk wished all interested parties farewell. A customer dryly replied:
"No, I'm not having fun at the trade show anymore. I'm going home now. I just found what I was looking for."
We still had fun at the trade show. In the evenings, there was usually some time to get to know other exhibitors and ask a few questions ourselves. We particularly enjoyed the "neighborhood" to the trade show booth of SlidePresenter. The colleagues there offer an authoring tool that some customers of blink.it can use complementarily – and vice versa. This way, we were able to connect interested visitors to the neighboring team.
What we recommend for your next trade show visit
Over 10,000 trade visitors were excited about LEARNTEC this year. Our team of four was almost too small to adequately inform all the interested trade visitors. Our lesson for the next trade show: Bring even more “Blinkies” to be able to answer all questions.

Those who were directly convinced and wanted to learn more simply left their business card afterward and will receive access to an online course in the coming days.
What expectations do you have for a blended learning platform?
To inform oneself comprehensively and especially early, this experience was also made by some trade visitors at the booth. A man said dejectedly that he had only invested in an expensive LMS two months ago which did not excite him. "Too bad I didn't see this platform earlier", he said after the blink.it presentation to the two founders.
Another customer, on the other hand, was immediately sure: Yes, blink.it is right for me! She booked directly at the trade show booth and was already able to upload her first content by the evening.
Being quick paid off particularly for some LEARNTEC visitors. The rocket pack – our card game for blended learning design – was sold out on the evening of the second day. Only a few remaining copies are still in our stock. However, the creative team at blink.it is currently working intensively on a Version 2 of the rocket pack, which is set to be released in the coming months!
