blink.it at LEARNTEC 2023: No email, but with LMS connector

The LEARNTEC in Karlsruhe celebrated its 30th birthday, and of course, we from blink.it were also present with a booth. In Hall 1 (Booth E44), our team presented, among other things, the new features "Emailless" and "LMS Connector." What exactly is behind these names, you will learn in this trade fair report!

This year, the LEARNTEC was focused on digital learning trends, although it can be assumed that the megatrend "AI in continuing education" will also influence the event in the coming years. The area of Corporate Learning was particularly in focus – presumably because the industry is currently outpacing itself with new, seemingly promising, and partly highly debatable achievements. Which is good, because progress does not arise from clarity but is notorious for taking detours on the way to its goal that may turn out to be misleading or not particularly helpful.

AI & VR: Learn more, think less!

The LEARNTEC also offered a true variety of innovations, the practicality of which the world will still have to decide on. "Adaptive learning meets microlearning and user-generated content" states a press release from Messe Karlsruhe – it doesn't sound particularly decisive here either. So how will people learn in the future? Perhaps through immersive learning in virtual realities? After all, there was even a dedicated area for this!

And yes, there were amazing things to see. And of course, everyone immediately asks about the investment costs for the high-tech glasses plus the associated software… Actually the wrong question when it comes to the future, but well, in the end, it is often not the learning effect that decides but the cash bag. And yes, progress has always been expensive, but maybe one should just think less and experiment (learn) more? Because that's really what it is all about, isn't it? In any case, an intense experience and crazy what is possible these days!

In case of doubt, it is particularly important for companies to look at how far they can train their own teams in this way (and are allowed to). Meanwhile, there are entire training programs on this topic. Whether HR developers, trainers (or other people in companies) are correspondingly numerous in further education in this area and which companies find this area interesting remains to be seen. However, it is clear that the opportunity to experience learning in a completely new way exists, and openness to AI and VR should at least be present in the work on one's own learning culture.

In total, over 100 experts from business and science shared their expertise in more than 60 presentations and workshops with the participants. The focal topics included, among others, Metaverse, Learning Ecosystems, New and Agile Learning, Learning with Artificial Intelligence (AI), and adaptive learning. ChatGPT was predictably addressed in several events. However, resilient learning settings, as well as activating learners and the transformation of learning culture, also found their place in the congress program.

Onboarding 4.0: The good and bad of onboarding

At blink.it, we focused on the topic of Onboarding 4.0 this year. Why? Because we still consider good onboarding central to productivity, and there are countless ways to create good and bad onboarding experiences. Our Customer Success Trainer, Claudia Grajek, explained using case studies how, with the help of the blink.it platform, you can make people productive in a very short time and welcome them to the company.
