LEARNTEC in Karlsruhe celebrated its 30th anniversary, and of course, we from blink.it were also on site with a booth. In Hall 1 (Booth E44), our team presented, among other things, the new features "Emailless" and "LMS Connector". This year, LEARNTEC was once again all about digital learning trends, although it can be assumed that the megatrend of "AI in further education" will continue to shape the event in the years to come. The corporate learning sector in particular was in focus – presumably because the industry is currently overtaking itself with new, supposedly promising and in some cases highly debatable achievements. Which in turn is good, because progress does not arise from clarity, but is notorious for taking detours on the way to the goal, which may then turn out to be misleading or not particularly helpful.
AI & VR: Learn more, think less!
Thus, LEARNTEC also offered a true variety of innovations, whose practicality the world will still have to decide upon. "Adaptive learning meets microlearning and user-generated content" is how a press release from Messe Karlsruhe puts it – which does not sound particularly decisive here either. How will people actually learn in the future? Perhaps through immersive learning in virtual realities? At least there was already a dedicated area for this!
And yes, there were amazing things to see. And of course, everyone immediately asks about the investment costs for the high-tech glasses plus the associated software… Actually the wrong question when it comes to the future, but well, in the end, in many places it is not the learning effect that decides, but the purse. And also yes, progress has always been expensive, but maybe one should just think less and experiment (learn) more? Because that is somehow the root cause of what it is all about, right? In any case, an awesome experience and crazy what is possible nowadays!
In case of doubt, it is of course especially important from a company perspective to see to what extent one can (and is allowed to) train one's own teams in this way. Meanwhile, there are entire training courses on this topic. It remains to be seen whether personnel developers, trainers (or other people in the company) will undergo corresponding further training in large numbers in this area and for which companies this area is of interest. However, what is certain is that the opportunity to experience learning in a completely new way exists, and openness towards AI and VR should at least play a role in the work on one's own learning culture.

Overall, by the way, more than 100 experts from business and science shared their expertise in over 60 lectures and workshops with the participants. The main topics included Metaverse, Learning Ecosystems, New and Agile Learning, learning with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and adaptive learning. As expected, ChatGPT was covered in several events. However, resilient learning settings as well as the activation of learners and the transformation of learning culture also found their place in the congress program.
Onboarding 4.0: Of Good and Bad Onboarding
At blink.it, we focused on the topic of Onboarding 4.0 this year. Why? Because we continue to view good onboarding as central to productivity, and there are countless ways to do good and bad onboardings. Our Customer Success Trainer Claudia Grajek used case studies to explain how to make people productive in the shortest possible time and welcome them to the company using the blink.it platform. Emailless
Register, participate and manage – completely without an email address!
