The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy says: the right support for a seminar is the A and O for its success. In the article "Use of Videos for Pre- and Post-Preparation of Seminars and for Increasing Customer Loyalty", Lena Després, Dr. Wolfgang Schneiderheinze, and Sandra Bürger explain the use of videos for seminar support using real problem cases as examples. Result: Sustainable, brain-friendly learning is created for all participants.

"Especially for competencies in real-time communication, the saying 'Practice makes perfect' applies. Blink.it conveniently provides all resources for contemporary practice after the seminar", says trainer Dr. Wolfgang Schneiderheinze. The pre- and post-preparation using videos is an important part of his seminars for the trainer. The preparation of participants through videos allows him to get in touch with them even before the seminars begin. This way, they are better prepared for the seminar and can acquire some initial knowledge beforehand. But the blink.it platform is not only a help for the trainer during preparation. After the seminars are completed, the platform can maintain contact with the participants. This can increase motivation to implement the learned content. What has been learned is also recalled to the participants' memory after the seminar. The videos can be reused for different clients, says Schneiderheinze, making the initial effort of creating short videos worthwhile.
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy agrees with Dr. Wolfgang Schneiderheinze. By using videos in seminars, the imparting of soft skills can be made more sustainable. According to the Federal Ministry, it is important to "develop unique selling points that distinguish the trainer from others." The use of videos for seminar support is a good means to achieve this. Information that is received through multiple senses is easier and quicker to remember and recall. Watching a short video is more effective than reading a long text. Even after the conducted in-person seminar, videos can help recall learned content. The rules learned remain easier to remember for the participants and can be more easily applied to everyday life.
How can you ideally use the blink.it platform as part of your seminar?
For seminar preparation: You can introduce yourself and the content of your seminar in advance, thus creating expectations among the participants that you can fulfill. Participants can also inform themselves about the topic of the seminar in advance, allowing you to build on specific prior knowledge in the in-person seminars.
For "real-time communication": With its chat and comment functions, the platform serves as a good tool for communicating with seminar participants. You can respond immediately to comments and messages. This function also allows you to clarify questions in advance. Afterwards, it becomes easier for you to maintain communication with the participants.
For post-seminar follow-up: The learned content is recalled again to the participants' memory. This is best done through short videos that contain additional information or calls to action. The motivation to implement the learned content is increased, and participants are encouraged to continue engaging with its content even after the seminar concludes.
Lena Després and Sandra Bürger from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as well as trainer Dr. Wolfgang Schneiderheinze are convinced of the concept of video-supported seminars.
