Online follow-up of presentations - convincing the audience and winning customers

Blended Learning

Trainer

I have noticed the following at many trade fairs: Many attendees pull out their smartphones during a presentation to take pictures of individual slides or film certain parts of the talk. After the presentation, small groups form around the speaker. Everyone wants to hand out their business cards to receive the presentation slides via email. The speaker has hardly any time to engage in conversation due to the large crowd.

As a speaker, presenter, trainer, or keynote speaker, you can get more out of your presentations and events with the blink.it App. Stay in touch with your audience in the long term and acquire new customers. Through the blink.it App, you can provide the audience with the slides of the presentation, create a survey, or exchange ideas with participants using the discussion feature.

How to use the blink.it App in the follow-up of presentations

Before the presentation, you create a “course” in the blink.it App. If you already know the participants by name and email, you can invite them to the course before the presentation. Alternatively, participants will receive the course link from you after the event. You should include this link at the beginning and end of the presentation on your slides. We recommend putting the link in text form (e.g., "app.blink.it/go/xGHkvpjnlkfTZ") and as a QR code (see image) on the slide. This way, your audience can either write down the link or scan it to access your additional online offering. You can create the QR code for your course link using an online QR code generator. After the presentation, interested attendees register in the blink.it App with their name and email address and gain access to the materials you provide.

Online follow-up as a USP

Have you ever heard of a speaker asking their audience before a presentation if they would like him to address a particular topic or specific question? I haven't so far, but you could be the first to make this offer to your audience! At every event, you can find potential customers among the audience, and every talk is an opportunity for self-promotion. Distinguish yourself from the competition with this offer and make your online follow-up a unique selling proposition.

Win-Win situation

Why should you make your slides, etc., available online? What do you gain in return? The answer: contact details and interaction. Through the app, you can stay in touch with interested parties afterwards and generate new orders in this way. The blink.it platform allows this exchange to take place in a closed setting. Blink.it operates on servers in Germany, and strict German data protection regulations apply. You determine what materials are available to your audience afterwards: the embedded presentation, the file for download, a short video, a survey about the presentation, an audio commentary on the slides, your portfolio, or a collection of helpful links and working materials. The possibilities are endless.

Offer the follow-up as a product

If you set up a paywall, you can implement a freemium model. Registered participants can use part of the offering for free while also seeing that there are additional premium contents available. However, this premium offering is only accessible after payment. To do this, you simply create a second course and invite those participants who have paid. This way, you turn the follow-up into a product.

This is what your offering could look like:

You can process payments through shopping systems such as Wufoo (for Wordpress), the Paypal button, Shopify, or DigiStore24. Setting up such a system requires some preparation. The good thing is that you only need to set it up once. Important note: Make sure to inform yourself about the relevant regulations in online sales (terms and conditions and right of withdrawal)!
