Videos are a great way to package content in a varied and personal manner. More and more professionals in continuing education are also getting involved in video production with small equipment. Our rocketday helps trainers, coaches, and personnel developers get started with the medium of "video" for online courses. How exactly this day unfolds, we reveal in the article.
Workshop
Simple Video Production for Your Online Courses

The rocketday is a blink.it workshop where you learn to create videos for your online courses: simply and of high quality – with your own smartphone – without expensive equipment!

What is the rocketday?
You have never recorded a video and are unsure how to approach the topic? Perfect! The rocketday is primarily aimed at beginners. We build knowledge and skills with you in three phases:
Phase 1: Planning and preparation of learning videos, technical equipment, video shooting
Phase 2: Using video in online courses, methods for online support/training
Phase 3: Mutual feedback and reflection on what has been learned
In short: With the rocketday, we help you to conceptualize, shoot, and design your first online course for your video content.
How does a rocketday proceed?
The rocketday is an intensive 1-day workshop, complemented by preparation and follow-up in the online course according to the blended learning principle.
The Preparation

Even before the actual workshop day, you will receive access to a blink.it online course for preparation, where you will get information about the process – as well as a task to prepare your video shoot. During this, you'll also get to know the blink.it platform from the participant's perspective.
The Workshop Day

Phase 1: Hans Peter Ludescher, one of our workshop leaders, explains how a rocketday typically unfolds: "We usually start around 9 a.m. with the introduction and the technical setup. By lunchtime, each participant has recorded at least one first video of their own."
A mini-equipment is completely sufficient! The "smallest studio in the world" (tripod, microphone, and light) will be provided by us on the workshop day. By the way, the resulting videos are rarely longer than two minutes – corresponding to our "2-minute concept." Why two minutes of continuous learning is enough, you can read here in the article.
Phase 2: After lunch, we go directly into the next phase, says Hans Peter: "After lunch, we start with the video editing of our own videos. We upload the finished videos to the platform and develop concepts for online support with the rocket pack"
The rocket pack is our card game with 40 methods for linking face-to-face and online learning. You can buy it on Amazon – as a rocketday participant, you even get the card game for free!
Phase 3: At the end, there’s a joint reflection round. Feedback is not only given from the workshop leader to the participants but also primarily among the participants themselves.
The Follow-Up

Even after the workshop, you will receive an online support from us, where the acquired knowledge is documented. This way, you can still access all content on topics such as online courses, training transfer, and video editing after the workshop.
What do I gain from the rocketday?
Workshop leader Hans-Peter knows the three concrete goals of the rocketday:
1. “Creating videos is not rocket science with the right process: It’s learning by doing!”
Planning a video, speaking freely in front of the camera, and editing the video is best learned in practice and through experimentation. At the rocketday, you can practice exactly that under professional guidance!
2. “The rocketday is also a great opportunity to get to know colleagues! All participants benefit from the exchange on-site.”
Regardless of whether the other participants are dealing with the same topics as you or entirely different ones: Exchanging ideas in “social learning,” giving each other tips, and learning together will advance you and give you new ideas.
3. “In blended learning, there is not one recipe that fits all!”
For some trainers, the focus is more on the follow-up of live events, while for others, the personal training aspect is greater; for others still, the preparation and independent learning is key. Whatever your training looks like: At the rocketday, you lay the methodological groundwork for a sustainable live-online connection.

Hans Peter Ludescher, one of the workshop leaders from blink.it, provides participants with a boost in setting up the "smallest studio in the world" for their video shoot.
Who is the rocketday for?
Basically, anyone interested in video production and digital education can participate in the rocketday. You can participate as an individual as well as a small team. With two to four participants per session, there is enough time for intensive personal support.
The classic rocketday concept is primarily aimed at trainers, coaches, and speakers: If you are interested not only in videos but also in online courses or online support for face-to-face events (so-called blended learning), the rocketday is perfect for you.
Where does the rocketday take place?
Our workshop leaders are active nationwide in Germany. To be precise, the rocketday takes place wherever you need it. We have around ten fixed dates each year in large German metropolitan areas such as Hamburg, Cologne, and Frankfurt, which can be booked directly.
But what if no date is planned near you? No problem! Feel free to send us a request with your desired region or city. If other participants also sign up for your region, we can organize an extra rocketday near you starting from two to three participants.
The Inhouse Rocketday for Companies
For medium and large companies, we offer an inhouse rocketday: The content is then flexibly tailored to the participants' knowledge and group sizes. Working in small groups and stations with 5-10 participants is also possible. The inhouse rocketday takes place directly on-site at the company.
