Videos are a great way to package content in a varied and personal way. More and more continuing education professionals are also getting into video production with minimal equipment. Our rocketday helps trainers, coaches, and personal developers to start using the medium "video" for online courses. We will explain how this day is structured in the article.
Workshop
Simple Video Production for Your Online Courses

The rocketday is a blink.it workshop where you will learn to create videos for your online courses: simply and professionally – using your own smartphone – without expensive equipment!
What is the rocketday?
You have never recorded a video and are not quite sure how to approach the topic? Perfect! The rocketday is primarily aimed at beginners. We will build knowledge and skills with you in three phases:
Phase 1: Planning and preparation of learning videos, technical equipment, video production
Phase 2: Using video in online courses, methods for online support/training
Phase 3: Mutual feedback and reflection on what has been learned
In short: With the rocketday, we help you to conceptualize, produce your own learning videos, and design an initial online course for your video content.
How does a rocketday work?
The rocketday is an intense 1-day workshop, complemented by preparation and follow-up in the online course based on the blended learning principle.
The Preparation

Even before the actual workshop day, you will receive access to a blink.it online course for preparation, where you will receive information about the process – as well as a task to prepare for your video production. You will also get to know the blink.it platform from the participant's perspective.
The Workshop Day

Phase 1: Hans Peter Ludescher, one of our workshop leaders, explains how a rocketday typically operates: "We usually begin around 9 AM with the introduction and technical setup. By lunchtime, every participant has recorded at least one first video themselves."
A mini equipment setup is completely sufficient! The “smallest studio in the world” (tripod, microphone, and light) will be provided by us on the workshop day. The resulting videos are rarely longer than two minutes – according to our “2-Minute Concept.” Why learning for two minutes at a stretch is sufficient, you can read here in the article.
Phase 2: After lunch, we go directly into the next phase, according to Hans Peter: "After lunch, we begin the editing of our own videos. We upload the finished videos to the platform and develop concepts for online support with the rocket pack."
The rocket pack is our card game with 40 methods for linking in-person and online learning. You can buy it on Amazon – as a rocketday participant, you even receive the card game for free!
Phase 3: At the end, there will be a shared reflection round. Not only does the workshop leader provide feedback to the participants, but also the participants give feedback to each other.
The Follow-Up

Even after the workshop, you will receive online support from us, in which the acquired knowledge is documented. This way, you can still access all content related to online courses, training transfer, and video editing after the workshop.
What benefit do I get from the rocketday?
Workshop leader Hans-Peter knows the three specific goals of the rocketday:
1. “Creating videos with the right process is not rocket science: It is learning by doing!”
Planning a video, speaking freely in front of the camera, and editing the video is best learned through practice and experimentation. At the rocketday, you can practice exactly that under professional guidance!
2. “The rocketday is also a very good opportunity to meet colleagues! All participants benefit from the exchange on-site.”
Regardless of whether other participants are dealing with the same issues as you or entirely different ones: Engaging in “social learning,” sharing tips, and learning together will advance you and provide new ideas.
3. “In blended learning, there is not one recipe that fits all!”
For some trainers, the focus is more on the follow-up from live sessions, while others have a larger emphasis on personal training aspects; for others, it’s the preparation and self-directed learning. No matter what your training is structured like: at the rocketday, you will lay the methodological foundation for a sustainable live-online connection.

Hans Peter Ludescher, one of the workshop leaders of blink.it, assists participants in setting up the "smallest studio in the world" for their own video production.
Who is the rocketday for?
Basically, anyone interested in video production and digital education can participate in the rocketday. You can participate as an individual or as a small team. With two to four participants per session, there is enough time for intensive personal support.
The classic rocketday concept primarily targets trainers, coaches, and speakers: If you are interested not only in videos but also in online courses or online support for face-to-face events (so-called blended learning), the rocketday is perfect for you.
Where does the rocketday take place?
Our workshop leaders are active nationwide in Germany. More precisely, the rocketday takes place wherever you need it. We have approximately ten fixed dates each year in major German metropolitan areas like Hamburg, Cologne, and Frankfurt that can be booked directly.
But what if no date is planned near you? No problem! Feel free to send us an inquiry with your desired region or city. If additional participants from your area register, we will organize an extra rocketday near you with just two to three participants.
The In-house rocketday for Companies
For medium and large companies, we offer an in-house rocketday: The content will then be flexibly adapted to the know-how of the participants as well as the group sizes. Working in small groups and stations with 5-10 participants is also possible. The in-house rocketday takes place directly on-site at the company.
