BDVT Camp 2018: Synergy between Man and Machine

Trainer

In May, it's again BDVT-Camp time! In 2018, the continuing education congress of the professional association for training, consulting, and coaching will take place under the exciting motto “Human.Machine.Friendship”. We at blink.it have dared to interpret this motto.

The innovation at BDVT 2018: The BarCamp

Keynotes, workshops, and sessions – each has its own advantages and qualities. However, the format of the BarCamps is becoming increasingly popular. Thus, at the BDVT-Camp 2018, there will be classic presentations and parallel workshops all day on Thursday and until noon on Friday – however, Friday afternoon will be entirely dedicated to the BarCamp.

Why do you go as a trainer, coach, or consultant to a two-day event where you meet other trainers, coaches, and consultants? Probably mainly for the exchange among each other. Learning from one another, inspiring each other, and sharing experiences; that is the goal of many visitors.

In order not to remain just a visitor or audience member, a BarCamp offers the opportunity to contribute your own workshop content. This idea led to the establishment of the first TrainCamp in 2017, where blink.it gathered many smileys for blended learning. We were also active several times as a sponsor and supporter at the CLC (Corporate Learning Camp) – the BarCamp principle has convinced us!

The format: illustrative, interactive, and practical

The BDVT has also recognized the benefits of this format, where on Friday morning (May 11) everyone can present an idea in the form of a pitch, and all attendees will collectively decide in the afternoon which workshop content is most interesting.

What should a continuing education offering for digital competence for trainers, coaches, and consultants look like that is also widely perceived and thus increases digital readiness?
– This question is posed by the BDVT itself in the announcement for this year's continuing education congress.

Of course – especially for the target group of trainers, a congress should also consider fundamental innovative principles of modern training. Our answer to the BDVT's question is: a continuing education offering for digital competence for trainers should be illustrative and interactive and primarily include a lot of practical relevance.

The tool: sustainable, cost-effective, and simple

Additionally, the BDVT further asks in its announcement: “Which tools are practical and user-friendly in training, coaching, and consulting?”

An answer to this second question is provided by blink.it with the web app for simple and efficient online support. It has also been awarded the seal of approval “BDVT certified method”.

With the blink.it app, you can quickly compile brief learning content like videos, PDFs, or quiz questions for your training. Your participants then decide for themselves when and where they can take a few minutes for their own learning transfer. Your in-person training can continue as usual – only that, with the parallel online support, you have more time for more intensive human-to-human content.

The motto: Human.Machine.Friendship

The guiding principle of the BDVT-Camp 2018 consists of three terms that, at first glance, only fit together half-heartedly – but only at first glance:

Human. The human should always be the focus, even and especially in times of digital change. In all innovation and technological achievements, it should always be the machine that serves the human – and not the other way around.

Machine. Even though the human remains at the center: the digital change is here, and it is changing the world. Everything is becoming increasingly interconnected, and the market for trainers is adapting. Here, skills are needed to distinguish between useful and useless tools.

Friendship. The term “friendship” is a nice category to unite “human and machine,” we at blink.it believe. Digital change has many advantages, and if the bond between the user and digital tools is carefully crafted, humans and machines can coexist in friendship.
