In May, it's again BDVT-Camp time! The 2018 continuing education congress of the professional association for training, consulting, and coaching will take place under the exciting motto “Human.Machine.Friendship.” We at blink.it have dared to interpret this motto.
The innovation at BDVT 2018: The BarCamp
Keynotes, workshops, and sessions – each has its own advantages and qualities. However, the format of the BarCamps is becoming increasingly popular. Therefore, at the BDVT-Camp 2018, classic lectures and parallel workshops will take place all day on Thursday and until noon on Friday – but Friday afternoon is dedicated entirely to the BarCamp.
Why do you as a trainer, coach, or consultant attend a two-day event where you meet other trainers, coaches, and consultants? Probably mainly for the exchange among each other. Learning from one another, inspiring each other, and sharing experiences is the goal of many visitors.
However, so you don't have to remain just a visitor or spectator/audience member, a BarCamp provides the opportunity to contribute your own workshop content. From this idea, the first TrainCamp was launched in 2017, where blink.it gathered many smileys for blended learning. We have also been active multiple times as a sponsor and supporter at the CLC (Corporate Learning Camp) – the principle of BarCamp has convinced us!
The format: vivid, interactive, and practice-oriented
The BDVT has also recognized the benefit of this format, where on Friday morning (May 11), anyone can present an idea in the form of a pitch, and all attendees decide together in the afternoon which workshop content is the most interesting.
What should a continuing education offering for digital competence for trainers, coaches, and consultants look like that is broadly perceived and thus increases digital readiness?
– This question is posed by the BDVT itself in the announcement for this year's continuing education congress.
Of course – especially for the target group of trainers, a congress should also consider fundamental innovative principles of modern training. Our answer to the BDVT's question is thus: A continuing education offering for digital competence for trainers should be vivid and interactive and, above all, contain a lot of practical relevance.
The tool: sustainable, cost-effective, and simple
Furthermore, the BDVT asks in its announcement: “Which tools are practical and user-friendly in training, coaching, and consulting?”
Blink.it provides an answer to this second question with the web app for simple and efficient online support. This has also been awarded the seal “BDVT certified method.”
With the blink.it app, you can quickly create short learning content like videos, PDFs, or quiz questions for your training sessions. Your participants then decide for themselves when and where they can take a few minutes for their own learning transfer. Your in-person training can continue as usual – only that you have more time for more intensive content from person to person due to the parallel online support.

The motto: Human.Machine.Friendship
The motto of the BDVT-Camp 2018 consists of three terms that at first glance only fit together half-heartedly – but only at first glance:
Human. The human being should always be the focus, especially in times of digital transformation. Despite all innovation and technological achievements, it should always be the machine that serves the human – and not the other way around.
Machine. Even though the human being continues to be at the center: the digital transformation is here, and it is changing the world. Everything is becoming increasingly interconnected, and the market for trainers is adapting. Skills are needed to distinguish between useful and useless tools.
Friendship. The term “friendship” is a beautiful category to unite “human and machine,” we at blink.it believe. Digital change has many advantages, and when the bond between users and digital tools is carefully woven, humans and machines can coexist in friendship.
