BDVT Gold for Agateno: Understand, practice, and reflect

Practical example

Trainer

Many trainers and coaches have submitted their training concepts for the BDVT Award for Training, Consulting, and Coaching 2016/2017. According to Stefan Häseli (Vice President of BDVT and jury member), three terms appeared particularly frequently in the submitted concepts: “digital”, “sustainable” and “individual”. These three terms reflect what is currently in demand in further education.

As was evident in this year's BDVT award ceremony, the combination of offline and online is a clear recipe for success for modern training concepts. With the help of digital technology, presence training, consulting, and coaching are combined in a training measure. The achievement of training goals is implemented on multiple levels.

This approach is also pursued by Daniel Goetz and Eike Reinhardt from Agateno. They submitted their “Azubi-Camp” for the competition and were awarded gold at the European Award for Training, Consulting, and Coaching 2016/2017 of the BDVT Professional Association.

The award-winning “Azubi-Camp” concept

The mission: Prepare, interact, and create sustainable experiences

“Attracting and retaining apprentices and young talent has become a challenge for many companies due to demographic change (see Agateno website)” The Azubi-Camp was therefore implemented nationwide to reach as many Sparkasse trainees as possible, at hundreds of Sparkasse locations in Germany.

This is how the Azubi-Camp took place

The Sparkasse holds an annual general meeting. This event was directly integrated into the concept and represented the conclusion and highlight. The Azubi-Camp started with a virtual preparation. In this phase, the trainees received explanatory videos on the topic “Sparkasse 2030” via blink.it, and discussions were held about this content in web meetings. The first ideas were collaboratively worked on and visualized using an online tool. During the Sparkasse Day, the ideas were refined and then presented to company representatives. The Sparkasse thus gives its trainees practical projects with real impact. Even though a trainee may have only been in the company for a few years, their opinion (or the opinion of the group) is valued. So much so that the results are presented on the main stage and do not disappear somewhere in the periphery.

We are happy for Agateno about their success. Their concept includes all the ingredients that a modern training concept should contain:

  • Preparing the participants

  • Facilitating information transfer and understanding

  • Participants translate the new knowledge into actions and practice

  • Participants receive feedback on their actions and reflect on their results

  • Participants interact together and learn from each other
