What do a trainer and a startup have in common? One might think, not very much. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that independent trainers, coaches, consultants, speakers, and startups are on the same journey.
At the beginning, there are visions, missions, goals, and many ideas on how to achieve those goals. Each trainer is a one-man business (or one-woman business) and embodies the marketing department, sales team, accounting, and PR department. It's no different for a startup.
“Reputation is everything” applies to both trainers and startups. In the beginning, no one knows you, and no one knows what you have to offer. So how can you attract attention to yourself and your offerings? It makes sense to participate in important industry events and network. I believe you are already aware of and practicing this approach.
Five important questions for your public image:
Why are you a trainer? What drives you? What do you want to achieve for your participants? (Use your story!)
Can you summarize in one sentence what sets you apart or what you offer? (Position yourself!)
Who are your allies? Who have you worked with before? (Build a network!)
How do you attract attention to yourself (relationships, advertising, social media)? (Position yourself effectively!)
How do you work? What do you offer your participants? How do you ensure sustainable training? (Sharpen your value proposition!)
Of course, we at blink.it also think about these questions. We are constantly searching for ways to learn new things. On the other hand, we wish to share our knowledge and experiences. Since we started as a startup ourselves, we know the challenges that arise when entering a market. Konstantin Ristl will share these experiences at the Future Convention in Frankfurt. On November 28th, tech enthusiasts, visionaries, and responsible parties from HR, PR, and digitalization will gather there. The MEDIAtreff expert panel will meet at the Museum of Communication and discuss the topic “Startups and Publicity – Challenges and Opportunities”.
Public visibility plays an important role for startups and trainers. Visibility can contribute to a competitive advantage because with good publicity, it is easier to find partners, new employees, and influential allies. Come visit us in Frankfurt at the Future Convention or comment on how you ensure a good public image.
