Of course, this graphic is greatly simplified and is intended to provide just a preliminary impression. I will now introduce you to all the questions and branches of the decision tree in more detail:
Question 1: What do you want to create with your LMS?
Some trainers, coaches, or consultants are looking for a digital companion for their existing in-person courses. Here, the concept of blended learning works perfectly with blink.it: Strengthen learning transfer after your seminars by accompanying participants over a longer period with short learning impulses.
You can just as easily create pure online courses with blink.it. Provide your expertise in a standalone e-learning format and thereby expand your offerings with an additional digital training option.
Live online training and webinars can be integrated into blink.it, but cannot be recorded/created directly within the learning platform. As a purely live platform, meaning only with video conferences and no self-learning phases, blink.it is therefore not the right choice for you.
Question 2: What is more important to you in your learning platform?
The second important question relates to the type of content you want: With blink.it, you can either create your own content or upload existing content. The concept of blink.it primarily aims to provide compact, concise learning impulses – in the spirit of microlearning:
Easy to set up
Quick to edit
Clear and beautifully designed
You see: The focus of blink.it is on ease of use, both for you as the content creator and for the participants.
"Ease of use" means with a learning platform that it should not be overloaded with functions and menus – the simpler and clearer it is, the more intuitive the use.
What is possible with blink.it: Upload ready-made content easily and integrate it into the course. Almost everything is compatible here – from PowerPoint slides and text or video files to ready-made SCORM files.
What you cannot do with blink.it: Create SCORM files yourself. This means that blink.it is not a traditional authoring tool with which you can create elaborate and interactive content. You can create a quiz, survey, or an exam directly with blink.it – but not large content packages. For this purpose, you additionally need an authoring tool like Articulate, Adobe Connect, or Slidepresenter. Then you can easily upload the files created there into blink.it.
Question 3: How should the content of your learning platform be accessible on mobile devices?
Finally, you should ask yourself if you have clear ideas about how your online platform should look on mobile devices. With blink.it, you have a web app: This means that the platform looks the same on all devices and can also be used in the same way. A clear advantage in operation – for you and your participants. Learn more in this article: Why an app is not just an app.
However, some trainers specifically look for a traditional app that is permanently installed on devices, for example, because a client has exactly that as a requirement. However, you cannot sell or install your blink.it learning platform in the app store. The access is always via the browser, which allows quick and easy access on many devices – without installation!
Good to know: In terms of look & feel, traditional "native" apps do not differ from a web app! If you are unsure about this, it is best to get advice from my sales colleagues.
These were three common questions from trainers and coaches about the blink.it learning platform. Did the information help you gain a preliminary impression?
