The e-learning industry is booming! But what tools and methods should trainers and educators focus on to benefit from this? We summarize from the latest mmb quick survey what is particularly in demand:

To the survey: The current survey by the mmb Institute was conducted in April 2020. A total of 64 companies from the e-learning sector participated. Among other things, questions about the current developments and future outlooks after the crisis were answered.

Business areas with growing demand

The e-learning industry is large: The business areas range from software to content creation to the sale of ready-made e-learnings. Especially for trainers and educators who want to increasingly rely on e-learning offerings now, the question arises: Which of the many offerings will be particularly important as a business field?

For educators and trainers, especially consulting services (68%) and the creation and sale of digital learning content and complete e-learning courses (both 58%) will be particularly important in the future. There is great potential in these areas to expand existing offerings or to open up entirely new business fields.

The most in-demand e-learning methods and tools

Microlearning, mobile learning, WBT – many different methods are based on the principle of e-learning. However, they often differ significantly in terms of didactics and media. The current crisis highlights the most important criteria:

Since in-person events are not possible for the time being, webinars are naturally in high demand (80%). But learning videos (67%) also provide a good basis for trainers and educators to profitably offer their content digitally. This also benefits apps (64%) that provide this content online.
