The e-learning industry is booming! But which tools and methods should trainers and educational providers focus on to benefit from it? We summarize from the current mmb Blitz survey what is particularly in demand:
To the survey: The current survey of the mmb Institute was conducted in April 2020. 64 companies from the e-learning industry participated. Among other things, questions were answered regarding the current development and future prospects after the crisis.
Business areas with growing demand
The e-learning industry is large: The business areas range from software to content creation and the sale of ready-made e-learnings. Especially for trainers and educational providers who want to increasingly focus on e-learning offerings, the question arises: Which of the many offers will be particularly important as a business field?

For educational providers and trainers, primarily consulting services (68%) as well as the creation and sale of digital learning materials and complete e-learning courses (each 58%) will be particularly important in the future. There is great potential in these areas to expand existing offerings or even to explore entirely new business fields.
The most in-demand e-learning methods and tools
Microlearning, mobile learning, WBT - many different methods are based on the principle of e-learning. However, they often differ significantly in terms of didactics and media. The current crisis reveals the most important criteria:
Learning forms that primarily function online and are not too complex and labor-intensive benefit from the current crisis.

Since in-person events are not possible for the time being, webinars are of course in high demand (80%). But learning videos (67%) also provide a good basis for trainers and educational providers to offer their content profitably online. As a result, apps (64%) that provide this content online also benefit.
